REPORT: This Playoff Team Just Signed Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose has a new team, and it involves a familiar face.
After being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline, Rose was waived, making the former NBA MVP a free agent. Now, following a few weeks of sitting at home and patiently waiting for a suitor to come along, Rose has joined the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he’ll be reunited with former Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau.
Rose played four seasons under Thibodeau in Chicago, winning MVP honors in their first year together before struggling through injuries during the rest of their time together. The 29-year-old point guard now joins a T-Wolves team that sits in sixth place in the Western Conference with a 38-28 record.
Here’s the report, via Adrian Wojnarowski:
Free agent guard Derrick Rose is signing with Minnesota for the rest of the season, league sources tell ESPN.
