UFC Fighter Accidentally Ruptured His Teammate’s Testicle In Training Session

Just reading the headline, I can almost guarantee that every man just reached below to make sure everything was in working order.

Devin Powell had to be sitting on cloud nine after UFC President Dana White discovered him on the Lookin’ For A Fight series. Shortly after, he was set to make his UFC debut. Powell would go on to lose to Drakkar Klose at UFC Fight Night 103 by unanimous decision, and he was taken to the hospital afterwards as a result.

That wouldn’t be the last time he would have to be hospitalized, because on Tuesday, he was right back in the emergency room. And this time, he had his teammate to blame.

Powell took to Instagram to announce he was getting prepped for surgery after fellow UFC fighter and teammate Joe Lauzon ruptured his testicle during training while practicing knees on the ground.

“Thanks to the fine ambulatory services in Wells, ME, I am checked into the hospital and ready for surgery. Shout out to Joe Lauzon we’ve been practicing knees on the ground and he successfully ruptured my testicle with his sheer power. His opponent has no chance in April … now to get the blood clot drained and the goods repaired . I waited a day and a half to be seen.. word for the wise, if you hurt yourself, go get checked out. Dana White, Sean Shelby, how about a NY UFC fight coming up… this will be quite the comeback story . Share this and help me get the ball rolling on my next Fight and follow my journey… pun intended”

A few hours after the initial post, he went to Instagram again and posted that the surgery was a success.

“Surgery was a success, now on to recovery. Can’t wait to get back in the UFC cage, this will be the first time since my last fight that I will be forced to rest my whole body for multiple days in a row. I will come back stronger than ever, I wasn’t expecting this curve ball but I’m going to hit my recovery right out of the park.”
