There are literally dozens of stories out there about Donald Trump being a womanizing douchebag. This week, apparently inspired by the #MeToo movement that has taken the world by storm, Luc Robitaille‘s wife, Stacia Robitaille, decided to put one more out there into the Twittersphere.

Stacia has been married to her Hall of Fame husband since 1992, when he was in his heyday with the Los Angeles Kings. However, Luc was traded to Pittsburgh in 1994, then spent two seasons with the Rangers from 1995-97. And it was during that period that Stacia had a run-in with Donald Trump.

“I was once on a elevator alone with [Donald Trump] at Madison Square Gardens,” Robitaille wrote in a tweet published on Monday night. “He was aggressive & told me I was coming home with him. I laughed, stating I was married to a Ranger. He guaranteed me my husband didn’t make as much money as him.”

Robitaille then concluded her tweet with the hashtag #ThisIsOurPresident.

Naturally, a handful of Trump supporters accused Stacia of making this story up to get attention. She responded by saying that she’s not a “liberal lefty,” and that she just felt people should hear her story about a man who is now President of the United States.

Of course, the trolls are right. There is absolutely no way to verify Stacia Robitaille’s story. You’ll just have to go with your gut on this one.

Do you think she is just making this story up now to get attention, even though a lot of that attention will be incredibly vile? Or is she sharing a true story from her life in the hope that it will encourage other women not to remain silent?
